Our History
Early 1920s: Augustino Cavalla immigrates to the U.S. from Italy and establishes a general machine shop serving the textile industry in Chelsea, NY.
1925: Cavalla is incorporated in New York.
1930s: Technical achievements include specialty textile equipment and cosmetic molds. WWII: Cavalla produces precision armament parts for the war effort.
1945: Post-war expansion into textile machinery and cosmetic molds.
1950s: Recognized as the gold standard in custom cosmetic molds.
1960s: Cavalla introduces the first automated lipstick production machine (fill, chill, mold, insert).
1970s: Expansion into pressed powders; first hydraulic powder press.
1980s–1990s: Full production lines for lipsticks and hot filling systems.
2000s: Emphasis on soft molding technology, fully automatic filling lines, and partnerships for pressed powders.
2010–Present: Bespoke integrated production lines; advances in consumables (soft molds, specialized ribbons). Future: In-house soft mold production to reduce costs and improve lead times for North American customers.
